Scrap Pink

Scrapbooks etc. is partnering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to hold a “Scrap Pink” fundraising campaign in September 2007 at independent retail stores across North America.

The campaign will culminate in an exciting on-site crop hosted by each participating shop the weekend of September 28-30, 2007. At this event, scrapbookers like you can create layouts and projects celebrating the special women in their lives.

Here at Purdy's we are participating in the first National Scrap Pink Crop. Purdy's will be hosting a crop that weekend. This is an event to benefit the Susan G. Koman for the cure. Please block this event in on your calendar now, I am sure it will be another great scrapbooking weekend. Registration will begin soon. Stop in for more details.

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement.

Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

Kid's Summer Classes

We are going to do the "Scrapper Camp" thing a little different this summer. Here are the details: Classes are going to be offered on a class by class basis instead of needing to sign up for the whole session. Classes will start the 24th of July and run 3 weeks (4 if the desire is there). They will be held 2 times a week, Tues. and Thur. one morning and one afternoon. Each class will be $10. That will include the project and a light snack. We will be doing different projects, the first class will be using ribbon to decorate flip flops, it is great fun. Your child will be able to show off their individual taste and fashion at the same time. Please register soon-must be registered 2 days before the class, this will give us time to prepare the items for the class.
